The M.P. for Portage-Lisgar expects a major wind farm project in her riding should be able to move forward this year.
There's some fear the project will be unable to access federal funding under the Eco-Energy Program, because the money in that program will run out by Fall.
The Harper government has been criticized for not expanding the Eco-Energy Program in last month's budget.
M.P. Candice Hoeppner says there's no need to panic at this point.
She says there is a lot of good feeling surrounding the project from the provincial and federal levels.
Hoeppner says she's confident the wind farm will continue to move forward this year.
An official with Bow Ark, one of the companies spearheading the St. Joseph wind farm, has indicated the project would come to a halt if they cannot access $80,000,000 to $100,000,000 in federal funding.
